Well, after a break due to illness and a minor operation, I am back in the saddle, so to speak. This weekeffort from her Solo album Hammerfall open up the show with an invitation to 'Bang Your Head'. What better? Well we have two tracks from Tarja, one from the last recording made with Nightwish, a track on the album 'End of an Era' and a more recent effort from her solo album.

Unsigned Inner Fire rip it up with newly signed Snake Eyes. We have tracks from Amberian Dawn, Kamelot, Edguy, Serenity, Shadowkeep and even Iron Maiden. We also have a track from Rhapsody of Fires latest album. Turn it up & enjoy!

It is with great sadness we heard about Scott Columbus's death on the 4th April. Scoot had been the main incumbant of the drum throne for Manowar from the album 'Into Glory Ride' until 2007. With that in mind, we are playing this week a track from each of the 6 albums since then (from hail to England to Warriors of the World) that he featured prominently on.

Added to this new tracks from Amaranthe, Symphony Cult and Machinae Supremacy, plus tracks from Metalium, Cain's Dinasty, Narnia and a track from Within temptations new album The Unforgiving, this is a great show.

We hope ther Manowar fans enjoy the tracks, & if you have not heard them before, we hope you have now become fans of one of the most influential Power Metal bands on the planet.

Hail & Kill!!

The Power and The Glory Wk14

Wow, this show was fun to put together, featuring a brand new track from Hammerfall ('One More Time' a track from theirf forthcoming album, 'Infected') and a track from the band Hell, featuring none other than renown producer, Andy Sneap playing guitar!

Ad to that tracks from: Blind Guardian, Edens Curse, Sirenia, a great newly signed band called Pathfinder, Dream Evil, Epica, US Prog Metalers Glass Hammer getting a bit symphonic, Rhapsody of Fire, Revolution Renaissance and Sonata Artica. It is a great recipe for spending an hour indulging yourself in 'The Power & The Glory'...

Until next week then?

The Power & The Glory WK13

This week is a very special show, as I talk to Avantasia's founder, Tobias Sammet about the forthcoming live DVD and CD release, 'The Flying Opera'. This extensive interview also discusses not only the future of Avantasia, but also whats happening next for Edguy.

Add to this, tracks from Balance of Power, Manowar, Therion and Turisas and this podcast is well worth a listen!

Thnis weeks show is a little late going up, but I hope you agree it is well worth the wait. Following the dreadful Earthquake & Tsuname that devastated large swathes of Japan, we turn the spotlight on the Japanese Power & Symphonic Metal scene with track from Versaille (Yes, they really are Japanese!), Galneryus, Matenrou Opera, X-Japan and Gackt. Whilst we can only guess how people are suffering, perhaps we can all spare a thought for our Metal Comrades in Japan whilst we listen to some of their music. Also on the show, we have some Avanatasia, ahead of our interview with Tobias Sammet which will air next weeks show. Also a return of Savatage, a track from Edguy, Tarja era Nightwish & Within Temptation.

If you liked the Japanese bands, then please drop me a line at: theshow@davedlh.com & I will do what I can about researching more metal from the far flung corners of the earth!

The Power & The Glory Wk11

Well here we are back from Illness & a rather nice trip to Israel to help recouperate.. pity the weather was the same in England when I got back! Still the show gets back into full swing this week with some names familiar from past weeks, like Avantasia, Hammerfall, Dream Evil, Sirenia and Within Temptation, but we also have some bands not plyed on the show before, including Accept, with a particularly Power Metal kinda track, Italian band Belladonna, Atargatis, Steel Attack, Edenbridge and Sacred Steel.

Check out next weeks show as I plan to bring you an interview with Tobias Sammet from Avantasia & Edguy, talking about the release of Avantasias first Live album & DVD, The Flying Opera.
